Schomberg would be taking a long vacation in France and was very interested in the "politics of the present eventful moment" meaning the beginnings of the French revolution.

Title: At the General Assembly of the Governor and company of the state of Rhode Island and Providence-Plantations.

A record of votes and resolutions of the General Assembly. One interesting subject is a trial of Quaco a enslaved person who went before the assembly for his freedom. Quaco was enslaved by Mr. Honeyman of Newport who was deceased. A British officer claimed that Honeyman promised to sell him Quaco before his death when Newport was under British control. Quaco fled and sought protection from the state.

A pamphlet of statistics concerning the money spent on African American education in 1835. The document shows in detail the appropriation of the sum of 20,000 pounds towards the erection of school houses in the colonies and settlements to which the provisions of the act for the abolition of slavery apply. There is also a statement of the applications for aid that were not answered due to the 1835 grant being exhausted.

There is also an article concerning a Captain Baylis of the Keziah who was arrested and faces forty years in jail for transporting five escaped enslaved people on his ship. The newspaper also contains advertisements and notices of meetings.

A letter from William Wilberforce to Reverend Mr. Jones. Wilberforce asks Jones to leave the publications he brought with his friend Mr. Pringle as he is travelling about a lot and has too much baggage already. He also mentions that Jones had asked about joining the Church Missionary Society and wished to go to Haiti. Wilberforce is very excited about the prospect of Jones going to Haiti and helping that "most interesting community" and promises to recommend Jones to a few friends of his in the society.
