McNeil informs Bedel that he will leave for Detroit in a few days. He notes talking with generals Eleazer Ripley and Benjamin Pierce (McNeil's father-in-law) about Colonel Bedel's merits and seeks continued correspondence. During the War of 1812, McNeil served as a captain under Bedel in the 11th infantry regiment and later became governor of New Hampshire.

Handwriting is more elegant than the first three letters, though there are similarities in style and signature. Same handwriting as GLC05522.04.
