Bingham, William, 1752-1804
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Knox
Bingham declares to Knox that, though difficult, he finished paying the state of Massachusetts the sum of $328.02. Bingham discusses his land selling possibilities and the help he has hoped to receive from Knox. If Bingham cannot sell, he will have to make money by mortgaging his land. He complains that taxes on the land would take a toll on its value. In a postscript he tells Knox what "Genl Cobb" and "Mr. Richards" have told him regarding the Legislature and the land.
