In this photograph are men gathered, including a priest, around a grave with dead men. Fallen men more often than not were put into mass graves. The region of Villers-au-Bois saw a lot of fighting during the war.

This photograph shows a medical worker spraying disinfectant on the battle field. He has a red cross band on his arm. There is a lot of rubble and destruction in the background. With all the death and destruction, battle fields were breeding grounds for disease.
