The small pamphlet was printed in the Santee dialect by students at the Santee Normal Training School, Santee, Nebraska. Includes two titles; "Life of Abraham Lincoln" intrepreted by Reverend James Garvie and "Aesop's Fables" intrepreted by Jennie W. Cox and Eunice Kitto.

Document is signed by "Thomas Kittredge," the Regiment's surgeon. On reverse of document is a note from Captain Jacob Gould discharging Dorman from service until he "he shall be restored to soundness of Limbs & to his sight," below Gould's note is approval from Colonel Nathaniel Lovejoy.

Addresses a rumor regarding soldiers who would leave Korea by Thanksgiving or Christmas, and doesn't believe it would happen. He goes into financial matters, the last time he was paid, and how much "combat rations" cost.
