States that Confederates attempted to take Folly Island, but that Wild's troops learned of the attack in advance, thus were prepared. Notes that if Debbie has to return to servitude with her children, her case will be "one of extreme hardship and injustice." With numerous mathematical calculations on address leaf.

Includes 70 handwritten pages of Herring's journal. Pages 71-110 of the journal are blank, and pages 111 and 112 include various autographs. Among other undertakings, Herring describes leading soldiers into baptismal water, attending a funeral, participating in various meetings, and interacting with various Christian converts.
