Full quotation reads, "There [is] nothing more pleasing to a independent person than to know that his kindness is received with a grateful heart by those on whom it is bestowed." Among the collateral to a autograph quotation by Laura Bridgman, a deaf-blind mute. Attached to the reverse side of a sheet of paper with two newspaper clippings about Bridgman glued to the front. Bergandthat's handwriting style suggests she was also blind, possibly an acquaintance of Bridgman's from the Perkins Institution for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts, where Bridgman became a student in 1837.

Title: [Surrender of the Patent of Plymouth Colony to the Freemen].

Outlines the surrender of the Warwick Patent of 1630 to the "Publick Court" by Governor of Plymouth Bradford and the "Old Comers" (original settlers). This resulted from pressure to relinquish the patent to the whole body of freemen. Bradford and the Old Comers reserved three tracts of land, the borders of which are described. A memorandum at the bottom of the document notes that Bradford complied with the order to surrender the patent. This document is a copy.

Title: A Deed Appointed to be Recorded.

Known as the Dartmouth Purchase, this land became the town of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Wasamequin and his son Wamsutta sold the land to Winslow, William Bradford, Myles Standish, Thomas Southworth, John Cooke, and their associates, the Purchasers and Old Comers. The deed provides the boundaries of the land and enumerates the goods and money Wasamequin and Wamsutta received in return. Copy made in the presence of Jonathan Shaw and Samuel Eedy.

There are two documents on this folio, the first is: signed by committee members, Richard Borden, John Akin, Isaac Smith, William Wood, and Jacob Barker. True copy made for a new property book. Ordered and allowed by the committee, with several other copies. Signed as Clerk of Dartmouth and dated 7 September 1727. the second document is a later hand, which also may be Delano's, has scratched through the report and written above it "this paragraph is not to be recorded" and below it "the above is not to be recorded," both in darker ink. Delano was a Clerk for the Township of Dartmouth.
