Discusses transactions relating to the Falmouth lands, a tract of land belonging to Henry Knox's wife's family; they belonged to the estate of Brigadier-General Samuel Waldo, Lucy Knox's grandfather. Samuel Winslow describes negotiations between Isaac Winslow; someone with the initials T.F. (perhaps Thomas Flucker, Lucy's father); Francis Waldo, an uncle of Lucy Knox; and a Mr. Wetmore. Also mentions the price of the lands and the taxes involved.

Further discusses the negotiations for the lands belonging to the estate of Brigadier-General Samuel Waldo. Reports the news that a Mrs. W. [perhaps the wife of Francis Waldo, who died in 1784] has successfully received the amount owed to her husband from General Waldo's estate, plus interest through 1784. This was recently decided at Ipswich Court. Apparently asks Knox whether he thinks it proper to approach a Mr. W. (perhaps his cousin Isaac Winslow) about a settlement on his property. John Fairfield offers an affidavit regarding Witchcassett, "four miles from Sheepscott and thirty four miles from St. George River, in the County of York" (present-day Maine). Attests that he moved to Witchcassett in 1738, commenting that at the time, forty families and householders lived in the settlement. Remarks on additional settlers in later years and sawmills located in the area. Recounts that in 1744, settlers felt vulnerable after hearing of the war that broke out in Europe between Britain and France, and many moved away from the settlement. The document explains a court case between Daniel Wilson, plaintiff; and James McCauley, defendant. Wilson brought the plea of trespass against McCauley, who failed to fulfill the terms of a promissary note, and was therefore indebted to Wilson. The court orders McCauley to restore to Wilson the appropriate sum of money.
