The letter is addressed to Perkins in "Brooklyn," which reffers to Brookline, Massachusetts, where Perkins lived. Possibly written in 1825 when Lafayette visited Boston to help dedicate the Bunker Hill Monument, which Perkins contributed extensively towards.
