Doyen, a Major in the U.S. marine Corps, had a court martial convened to try him by the Commander-in-Chief of the North Atlantic Station on board the U.S.S. Alabama. He was sentenced to have his grade reduced two numbers and be publicly reprimanded. Theodore Roosevelt pardoned him due to request by the Sec. of Navy. Partially handwritten. Countersigned by Attorney General William H. Moody.
