Title from inscription on verso. Numeric notation on verso: "XII 1116." Image of two or three sunken boats protruding from the shallow water. These were old steamers that were skuttled by the Confederates to obstruct passage. The top halves of the paddle wheels and other parts of the vessels visible above the water. Written near Drewry's Bluff, Virginia.

Title from inscription on verso. Image of what remains of the Gas Works building with gaping holes, caused by artillery fire, in its walls. The pile of bricks in the foreground is all that remains of the once-famous 80-foot-tall somkestack. Federal artillery used it for target practice until it finally collapsed. Location either at Weyanoke Point or Powhattan Point, near Harrison's Landing, VA. Soldiers are crossing the bridge while cavalry troopers wait to cross. The bridge appears to have a section detached to allow the ship on the left passage. The camera is elevated to provide a nice view of the crossing. Numeric notation: "X 781." See GLC 5111.01.0104.
