Outlines the history of the Waldo patent, beginning with King Charles the First granting the Muscongus patent to the Council of Plymouth. The second part, dated 2 April 1785 in Warren, Maine, declares that the first part is a copy written by a Colonel Jones, Representative of the town of Bristole, and it is signed by William Lermond.

Docket asserts that this document was sent to Knox by William Hunt, but that he did not sign it, and instead signed a later copy.
