Title: Oklahoma great land rush: "boomers" and towns & cities they built

Collection of fourteen photographs taken in Oklahoma (Indian) Territory at Oklahoma Station (later Oklahoma City) around the time of the land rush. The first five images show the growth of Oklahoma City from March 1889-1892. Other images include views of Chickasaw Indian Nation, Choctaw nation, Fort Washataw and Atoka. "The enabling act providing for calling a convention to frame a constitution for Louisiana was passed February 20, 1811, and this, the first constitution of Louisiana, was adopted on January 22, 1812. Randolph purchases the slave, Robert Cowley, from Peter Randolph, deceased, with the intention of freeing the slave. Cowley purchased his freedom from Randolph for fifty pounds. Notes that Cowley is older than forty-five years. Document is a court copy.

Broadside printed on off-white silk and mounted on a wood backer board. Three columns of type with floral border and an eagle at top with a banner reading "E Pluribus Unum." Noted at top "For D.D. Davis." Tyler writes that he has always felt that Congress should not establish a Bank of the United States. Discusses the failure of previous national banks in the United States. Dimesions of the backer board are 45.5 x 30 x .8 cm.

Records that James took him, and left his sister in Salem, North Carolina, and his brother in college at Granville, Tennessee. In the first two pages, English recalls his youth: a trip to New Orleans in 1827, working for John W. Lane of Livingston, Alabama, and managing a large warehouse for Robert King of Knoxville, Tennessee in 1833.
