Lieutenant Greenman gives testimony regarding Lieutenant [Joseph] Wheaton. Describes a conflict between Wheaton and Lieutenant Pratt. Wheaton ordered Pratt to take command of a company, threatening to arrest him if he refused. Also complains that Wheaton sold supplies, including handkerchiefs, he received from Albany. However, it would have been "ruinous" to do so because they do not know the original cost of all their goods, and for a variety of other reasons. Declares that Samuel Shaw carries with him "most all the Woolens, which are by far the most salable at this season of the year," and will also bring Knox a receipt which they would like him to sign in order to "prevent very Possible risk and Inconvenience on your part."

Bourne dates the letter 1789, but the docket dates it 1790.

Legal document written in William Duer's hand. Signed by Duer, Henry Knox, Royal Flint. Knox also signed for Henry Jackson. The document states the four parties to the agreement "agree with each other upon honor to be equally concerned in the purchase of one million of acres of land in the Province of Maine - no parties to be admitted to this concern without the consent of the subscribers." The location of the land is to be determined by the parties. They also agree to make proposals in joint concern for the land belonging to the Indians on each side of the Penobscot River.

This document is in the hand of William Duer, but the last sentence on page 3 is written by Knox, who also signed it.
