Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Knox
An account of the surveying that took place between the 16th and the 23rd of September at various areas in Maine. Says they had to stop surveying in Jackson, Maine due to the insurgents removing all traces of their markings. Describes the areas he believes can be surveyed without the surveyors be discovered by the settlers and recommends discharging most of the men. Does not believe there is any merit in the rumors flying around about the surveyors being in danger.
