Murder rape, robbery and arson are the names by which you designate a few of their atrocities. Gen. Lee's orders to respect private property was laughed at by the villains that compose his army..."

Writes that a rebel quartermaster deserter came into the lines the other day and later succeeded in capturing 52 rebels near Washington, North Carolina. The regiment has taken thirty prisoners with their equipment, arms, and horses.
