Includes a letter written on the following day. Writes that the town of Murfreesboro is "encircled with fortifications and the siege guns bid defiance to Secessia". Also writes that Rosecrans or "Old Rosie" is pressing confiscated soldiers into service. He has orders for a regimental inspection, so he cannot write a long letter.
