Geary commanded the XII Corps at Gettysburg. He restored order to San Francisco but failed to do the same as territorial governor of Kansas. After the Civil War he was governor of Pennsylvania.

Legal brief in the suit of Jones, surviving partner of Farrell and Jones, of Great Britain, against Thomas Walker, Defendant, in debt on bond before the Federal Circuit Court, Richmond, Va. Entirely in the hand of Edmund Pendleton. Probably 1791. One of the greatest post-war problems in Virginia was the settlement of pre-war debts with English merchants, required by the Treaty of Peace, but virtually impossible in the inflation-ridden, cash poor economy of post-war Virginia. These problems were complicated by the British war depredations there. Pendleton frequently raised this issue…
