Writes to her publisher concerning reprinting her early book, "The Mayflower," for the benefit of "a great fair...at my brothers church in Brooklyn for the 'Mayflower Mission' supported by Plymouth Church for the care of the poor in a destitute section of Brooklyn." In a vertical postscript she writes, "I trust you are keeping an eye out about renewing the Copy right of Uncle Tom ["Uncle Tom's Cabin"]." Written from Mandarin, the Stowe's vacation home in Florida. Two black and white bust engravings of Stowe included.

In 1856 he declined the presidential nomination of the American party.

The Governor of New York notes that he ordered munitions stored near Oswego and orders Hopper to send muskets, cartridges, and powder from those stores to use to defend Oswego, New York, if attacked. Oswego was attacked and captured by the British on 6 May 1814. Tompkins later became vice president.

Abraham Lincoln, of Illinois, at the Republican State Convention, June 16, 1858." This early printing shows the national attention Lincoln received for the speech of June 16, despite his loss to Douglas. Greeley endorses the speech in an editorial on page 4.

A reciept acknowledging the final payment for land ceded by the Six Nations at the Treaty of Fort Stanwix. With the loss of these lands the Six Nations eventually dispersed: the Mohawk and Cayuga to Canada, the Oneida to Wisconsin, while the Onondaga, Seneca and Tuscarora stayed in upstate New York.
