Swearing that on 1 November 1891, he attended to John Peterson's wife who miscarried prior to Conroy's visit. Mrs. Peterson told him that Richard Ballantyne had harassed her and the doctor believes this may have caused the miscarriage.

Testimony stating a conversation the witnesses overheard between Ballantyne and Mr. & Mrs. Peterson. Ballantyne admitted harassing Mrs. Peterson and forcing her to sign a mortgage on the homestead. When told Mrs. Peterson miscarried the same night he harassed her, Ballantyne stated "I do not understand your Danish Language. Get Tourgeson to explain it to me."
