Informs Knox that he is looking for a Boston distributor for medicine made by a Mr. Norton, a surgeon from Golden Square, London. He proposes the same arrangements for medicine distribution Knox has with New York printer, James Rivington, who recommended Knox for the job (GLC02437.00159). Morewood desires constant advertisements be placed in Boston newspapers. Underneath Dr. Morewood's signature, he is identified as a "Surgeon at Mr. Rivington's."

Captain Savage attests that Peter de [Lemay] of his detachment has served as a matross in the 3rd Regiment of Artillery for three years. Recommends him for discharge. This document apparently served as a register of provision orders; there are various notes on recto dated June 1781 from Trenton and Morristown, New Jersey confirming order of rations. Verso contain more such notes related to commissaries and the issue of provisions dated June 1781 from various locations, including Baltimore, Maryland.

Eight articles express severe pro-Union sentiments. First article calls for unconditional surrender. Second article calls for one hundred "arch traitors" to be delievered up and hung. Third article calls for record of names of traitors so they can be disfranchised forever. Fourth article calls for property of traitors to be confiscated. Fifth article calls for seceded states to pay the balance of all expenses. Sixth article calls for the payment of debts due to Northerners. Seventh article calls for "the immediate and unconditional abolition of Slavery." Eighth article says seceded states…

Print broadsheet of a bill before the U.S. House of Representatives which would make it illegal to "conceal, harbour, and employ, or aid or abet in concealing or harbouring any fugitive from labour, escaping from one state into another, or to, or from either of the territories of the United States." Blank space in the text where a dollar amount can be written in for a fine that can be recovered by the owner. Also says that owners can petition the court to issue a warrant for any fugitive slave whose whereabouts are known. Says if the slave is arrested and the master does not come to retrieve…

Title: A Bill, to amend the act, intituled, "An act respecting fugitives from justice, and persons escaping from the service of their masters"

Same bill as GLC08058.01, with several amendments. Settles the penalty for knowingly harboring escaped slaves at $500 and requires those employing black labor to see a manumission paper. Says can avoid the penalty if the employer advertises a general description of the slave and his time and place of employment for at least three weeks. Requires jailers to advertise for at least six weeks that a slave has been jailed. Says whoever has the slave jailed will have to put up security for any bills and fees the jailing will incur.
