Marked "copy." Relates the experiences of George Ulmer, one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace in Ducktrap, Maine, on 4 July 1805. Received a report that five hundred armed men were assembled in the Davistown area to march to Castine and rescue two prisoners. Discusses his attempts to gather information about the revolt, and the people he found involved. Also relates threats against his life for being a spy.

Apparently is recommending that Knox ensures that a new clergy member from Britain, a Mr. Chillea, enjoys the approval of local churchgoers before Knox finalizes his employment.
