He said it was myself I ought to look after not others, that is a nice speech for a person to make and especially one who claims to be a Christian." Mentions how rains have flooded other miners. Says his brother will take a sledge that winter but he will carry to mail [?] 250 miles to avoid starving.

Mentions saloons and gambling: "This place is certainly awful for disreputable characters, you can go into any of the saloons or gambling houses and see the women gambling and mixing with the men and in some of them they run the tables." Mr. McTaggart took photographs of their camp. He loves her. How he learned to make pies by just doing it.
