First volume of an eight volume set. Title page says it is a new edition, corrected (the first edition was published in 1762). Published in London "for A. Millar, in the Strand." Title page is signed by John Adams. This volume recounts England's history from the Roman Invasion in 55 B.C. to the Anglo-Saxon period, to the Norman Conquest in the 11th century, and up to the reign of King Henry II in the 12th century.
