Cover letter of Knox's report regarding troops furnished by various states for each year of the Revolutionary War as well as conjectural estimates of militia. On April 23, 1790, Congress instructed Secretary of War Knox to "to lay before the House an account of the troops, (including the militia,) and also of the ordnance stores furnished from time to time by the several States, towards the support of the late war."
