Includes receipts for the purchase and/or repair of breeches, shoes, coats, shirts, horses, and other items used for military service. One page is detached from the binding. Contains a loose treasurer's order citing an amount of "old Continental Money" inside the back cover. Book is most likely created in Worcester, Massachusetts, but this is not certain.

The seal is just below the last line of text. The document is signed by "Gerard" on 23 February 1779 in Philadelphia. Reports that Mr. Stapleton purchased the Captain Lieutenancy in the 17 Dragoons, and Captain Lieutenant Tyler assumed the position of the late Captain Maxwell, who died at Bristol. States that ensign George Stewart purchased Mr. Graham's Lieutenancy, and ensign George Walker Stewart succeeded Lieutenant Snodgrass. Relates that the Duke of Hamilton was nominated as an ensign.

Appointed by "the Commissioners for managing & causing to be levied his Majesties Customs and other Duties in America." Also outlines the duties of Irving's new position. A note on the verso signed by Fra. Bernard dated 15 April 1768 confirms that Irving took the oath of office. Irving was later a controversial figure involved in investigating the Boston Tea Party. Scott and Sprague agree to bond themselves unto General Treasurer of the Colony of Rhode Island Abraham Borden, and to his successors in office, the sum of "three thousand pounds currant money of New England." The condition of the bond is that Scott and Sprague will pay all expenses that arise to the colony in association with the "controversy between the Colony of Rhode Island and the Province of the Massachusetts Bay relating to a gord of land."

Co-signed by Coman's wife Sarah. Also witnessed and signed by Philip Peekham and Jacob Goff. Coman sold about one acre of land to the colony of Rhode Island for 50 Spanish milled dollars. The deal was made with John Jenckes and John Waterman as trustees of the colony appointed to build a powder mill on the property. Document details precise boundaries of the land. Paper seals are next to Richard and Sarah's names.

Signed twice by J. Lyndon (clerk of the lower house), R.J. Holme (deputy secretary of the Upper House), and certified a true copy Henry Ward. Authorizes Jacob Goffe to purchase land near the mill and build a house, all at the state's expense. The resolution by the Lower House was agreed to by the Upper House the next day, with the caveat that Caleb Harris "be added to superintend the Business." A signed note by Harris on the verso indicates he received the contents from Joseph Clarke, the state treasurer.
