First edition. Quarto. With 17 engraved plates (some folding). Printed by I. and J. Taylor. Fulton's first important work. Fulton used this book to gain public recognition and indisputable credentials as an engineer. His plans and improvements for the Peak Forest canal in Manchester convinced the canal company to pay the cost of printing 200 copies of Fulton's book. Bound in original marble boards.

Printed by Samuel H. Smith. Jefferson's separately printed appendix to his Notes on Virginia, containing the evidence upon which he charged Capt. Cresap with the murder of Logan's family and other peaceful Indians. The appendix was printed to respond to the charge that Jefferson had invented the narrative that appeared in the "Notes" to cover for a speech made by Logan. Roosevelt inscribed this printed edition of his "Open Letter" sent to newspapers to Edward E. Swadener. Roosevelt argues that religious belief should not be a litmus test for candidates, claiming that political history shows people of certain faiths representing constituents with beliefs differing from their own. He dwells at length upon the anti-Catholic attacks on Taft during the last presidential election because of his supposed Catholic sympathies. He argues for tolerance.

Title: Report of the committee, to whom was referred the petition of Daniel Boone together with the resolutions of the legislature of the state of Kentucky, relative to said petition.

Printed by Roger C. Weightman. Boone sought a grant of land in the Missouri territory. The committee cites Boone's service to the United States, his willingness to face peril, his contribution to western settlement, and his current state of poverty. Authorizes that Boone's wish is granted, and that he receive a grant of land. Also states that the committee has corresponded with the legislature of Kentucky regarding creation of a Boone memorial.
