Item states that the Pain College NAACP Chapter had organized play-ins to protest against segregated parks, these were followed by protests against biased news coverage of the events; fist fights; and increased harrassment by white teens.

Efforts mention include housing, voting rights, fair employment practices, equal treatment in the court of law, travel restrictions through parts of the south due to segregation, lynching, education, and access to public parks.
