28 December 1798
Knox, Henry, 1750-1806
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Samuel Nicholson
Knox writes Nicholson regarding "the circumstance of Mr. Russel and Mr. Amory" who left his ship (the Constitution) because they did not receive commissions. Knox has told them to return and be obedient, but also suggests to Nicholson that once they are all far out at sea to give them their commissions "in a handsome manner." It will surely boost Nicholson's reputation in town.
