She asks Bill to compose "something" (presumably a letter) for them and asks if it will be signed "Ensign and Mrs." She sent Bill their tax returns to sign and that she cannot write again until she has the money for stamps.

She mentions watching a TV show about Wall Street that only contained two cuts of women in the scenes. Writes that she and Mr. Anger from Victaulic discussed both being from New York City's vicinity. She closes by mentioning the photographs she has been sending to Bill and comments on her gratitude that her workday is almost done.

Bill mentions Bernie and Mary who are "at each other constantly." As a result, he hopes he and Roseann will be there for their niece later on. He concludes by reflecting, "We made the right decision for me to leave the Navy."

This is a lithographic poster featuring Howard Chandler Christy's iconic depiction of the female, would-be sailor. The poster is of a girl and states "GEE I WISH I WERE A MAN I'd JOIN THE NAVY, NAVAL RESERVE OR COAST GUARD." The poster was used as a recruiting propaganda to get people to join the Armed Forces during World War I.
