Schuyler warns the Indians not to make war against the southern Indians, and to respect English property when their warriors travel to Virginia and Maryland. He also mentions the danger of the French building a fort at Onjagare. Marked as a rough draft on the docket.

The Mohawk Sachims explain that they were on their way to make peace with the Eastern Indians, but stopped their journey due to the breaking of war and other dangers. They also remind the Governor of New York of the Earl of Bellomont's promise to build a fort in their country, and ask that steps be taken to fortify their land.

. . . there Journey and Conveyed By severall Mohogs to settle In the Mohogs Countrey" The proposition asks the Skachtkook Indians why they are travelling to to the Mohawk Country, and advises them to return to where they came from. In their answer, the Indians state that they dwelt there long before the arrival of the British, and have every right to move where they please. The men of Albany reply that they were unaware that the Skachtkook Indians used to live there, but advise them to return to their country until the Governor arrives.

Schuyler writes that a settlement of French and Indians is to be made on the River Quaasick. He also states that 9 Indians of the 5 Nations were killed while hunting in the far nations, and it remains unknown if the French or the far Indians are responsible.

Title: Proposition to the Commissioners of Albany with an answer

The Sachems report that they are resolved not to let a priest or French man live among them, and state that they are returning to their castles for security. They also complain of the lack of security offered by the English, and request more arms and ammunition. In their answer, the Commissioners thank the Sachems for their affirmation of the covenant chain, and agree with their mistrust of the French. They also agree to supply the Indians with the best powder and ammunition so that they may avenge the death of 5 Indians.

Title: "Propositions made by three Mohogs and some Riber Indians and Waganhaer . . .

. . . come from Tiogsagrondie" The Indians tell Corlaer that they have come to Albany to trade, and that they expect to be well received and welcomed into a partnership. In their answer, the Indians are thanked for coming to trade, but are told that goods are scarce and that the French may try to harm them out of jealousy. Includes a final note dated 21 June 1704; explains that the Indians of Tiogsagrondie request the aid of the 5 Nations in a war with the far Nations.

Title: Propositions to the Mohawks, Oneidas, Onondagas, and Cayugas

Ingoldesby asks the Indians for their full support in a land expedition against the French in Canada, who have shown themselves time and again to be the enemies of the 5 Nations. He also expresses his concern over the absence of the Senecas, who have fallen under the influence of the Jesuits. The document then gives an account of various Indian Sachems singing war songs and clasping the hands of the English as a sign of their commitment to the expedition. Marked as a true copy and signed by Robert Livingston, Secretary of Indian Affairs.

The Onondaga Indian relates news he heard from a Seneca that a company of Indians were discussing plans to attack the 5 Nations. He also states that 2 nations of Indians from Maryland have all been killed by a pestilential disease. P.2 contains an account of a meeting of the Commissioners of Indian Affairs, in which it is resolved to send a group of Christians and Indians to the Senecas to inform them of the lies the French have told them. Proposition of Kendall and Col. Southy Littleton (who is noted to have died before the Indians came), contains the same statement as that in GLC03107.01.01891 and .01892. Followed by a proposition by Kendall to the Mohawks and westward Indians, in which Kendall notes that these Indians are forgiven for past aggressions, and are expected to obey the law of standing still and laying down weapons before a white man. It appears that a signature was cut out of the document.

Title: to the Maryland agents re: meeting with Indians to investigate attacks

Brockholes writes that he has ordered a strict inquiry to be made among all the northern Indians in order to discover who participated in the attacks upon white settlers in Maryland and Virginia. He notes that the Mohawks and Senecas claim innocence, and have been extremely helpful with the investigation; and invites the Maryland agents to Albany in order to conduct the investigation themselves. William Kendall, the Agent of Indian Affairs in Virginia, writes to set the terms of the colony's relationship with the Mohawks. In order to maintain peace and friendship, Kendall writes that all Indians are required to stand still and lay down their arms upon contact with any Christians, or risk being killed as an enemy.

Title: Conditional release of a tract of land to King James II

During his term as Governor of the province of New York, Thomas Dongan purchased a tract of land called Saratoga from the Mohawk Indians, and then released it to a number of Dutch and English men, among them Robert Livingston, in the form of a land patent on 4 November 1684. In the document, Robert Livingston states that there is a creek in his territory where Indians come to fish, and he notes that it would make a convenient settlement for the Christian Indians of Canada, and would also open up the opportunity to trade with these Indians. Record of the proceedings held between the Onondagas, Oneidas, Mohawks, and Cayugas over the course of a few days. During these proceedings, the Indians apologize for the actions of other northern Indians, and state their desire to maintain peace and friendship with all Christians. The document also records the various peace offerings that the Indians made in an effort to apologize for the murders and robberies that were committed.

Contains the signatures of Coursey and Philomen Lloyd. The document sets the terms for a peace settlement between the agents of Virginia and Maryland, and the northern Indians. Lloyd and Coursey demand 500 beavers to pay for the robbery and plunder, and the commanders of the troop that murdered the Christians. They also request that the northern Indians remain out of their country, and that they call back any troops that may have been sent down.

Effingham instructs the interpreter to inform the Indians that he is aware of the destruction they recently caused in Virginia, where they killed a number of cattle and a few Englishmen. He goes on to say that he is willing to forgive the matter, provided the Indians call their men back from Virginia and Maryland and promise to never travel through there again.

Title: Proposition to the Mohawks, Senecas, Onondagas, and Oneidas

Effingham condemns the Indians for repeatedly breaking their covenant with Coll. Coursey and invading Virginia and Maryland, where they have robbed and plundered English settlements. He explains, however, that he has worked with Thomas Dongan, the Governor of New York, and has decided to make a new and stronger peace with the Indians. In this peace, Effingham demands that the Indians call all of their men out of Virginia, and promise to never attack the English, or their Indian allies, ever again.

Title: "Proposition made by some messengers sent from the Maquase Sachims in the . . .

. . . Toune house of Albany." The Mohawk messengers offer belts of wampum in exchange for information regarding English designs to attack them. They English respond with an assurance of peace, and encourage the Indians to hunt freely and to be at ease.
