A postscript fills the back page of this London newspaper detailing the Boston Massacre. An editorial insinuates that the Massacre was in fact premeditated, and could have been prevented by a single, active magistrate. In reality, jealousies and misinterpretation ensued.

Engraving of the Boston Massacre, hand-colored, first edition. Crispus Attucks is colored in, indicating that he was an African American. The depiction of the event and a poem printed below the engraving vilifies the British Army. The casualties, described as "unhappy sufferers," are listed at the bottom.

Mentions that he has printed a letter to John Hancock in Rivington's New-York Gazetteer and would provide the opportunity for any of Hancock's friends to reply to it. Sent a print for Paul Revere to make an engraving. Hancock was then a Boston selectman and member of the General Court. Asks Knox to send a copy of John Hancock's Massacre Day Oration from March 1774 under a blank paper cover, because Rivington has an immediate use for the speech commemorating the Boston Massacre. Also regquests a single copy of any well-written pamphlet or book from Boston on the subject of the American dispute with the British. Rivington will print it in New York "whilst it shall be quite new to our readers in this province." Rivington was a bookseller, printer, and journalist who came to America in 1760. He published Rivington's New-York Gazetteer.
