Title: to Leonard Eugene Graeff

One letter from June Walter to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated September 29, 1943. June states, "things have been buzzin' so around here that I don't know 'which ends up.'" She would like to see his drills is excited to hear about his good marks on his tests. She mentions there being no dances lately but she did see a mutual acquaintance Pete Schlome on her way home from night school where she's taking Spanish and Math classes in effort to attend Penn State. She recounts seeing the film Cat People, and being on edge from it. Signed, "Junnie."

Order to provide soldiers with summer clothing who are entitled to it, so "that the whole of the troops will appear in the most soldierly condition on the 4th of July." Wayne was the general in command of the United States Army in Greeneville, Ohio.

Orders non-commissioned officers and privates of Captain Pike and Isaac Guion's companies of the 3rd Sub Legion to go under the command of Captain Pike to Fort [Nassau?]. Reports that Major Burbeck will order one sargeant and eight matrosses from the 1st Battalion of Artillery to join the detachment under the command of Lieutanant Underwood. Indicates clothing orders for these men should be made out, including clothing for the men that reengaged or enlisted on March 5. Wayne was the general in command of the United States Army in Greeneville, Ohio.

Specifies duties in regard to Clothier General R.J. Meigs. Each Sub Legions pay master is to account for Meigs all clothing received and distributed to troops. The Quarter Master General will deliver all public clothing in his possession to Meigs. The Adjutant General will countersign returns. Commanding officers must also make notes of when terms of enlistment for commissioned officers and soldiers will expire. Wayne was the general in command of the United States Army in Greeneville, Ohio.

Pardon of Thomas Youell, who had a death sentence. Remits corporal punishment issued against Joseph Cross, Ebenezer Walker, and Edward Saxton, and orders them to return to their companies. Orders Pay Masters to make returns for Hunting Shirts for detachments under marching orders. Specifies changes in commanders. Orders a general court martial convened tomorrow for as many prisoners as can be brought before it. Wayne was the general in command of the United States Army in Greeneville, Ohio.

General Maury informs General Price he was disappointed that Price recently failed to visit Vicksburg. Reports on marching with General Lee (possibly Stephen Dill Lee). Relates that due to a railroad accident, the 35th Mississippi lost an estimated 70 men. States "I have never been on a Battle Field where the ground was so easy to learn as this about here, our positions being much elevated above those of the enemy, we could see and understand the operations far better than he." Written by Bouthillier, apparently as an officer in the British Army in Canada to Robert Kingston, an officer on General John Burgoyne's staff. The receipt is for cloth Kingston was having delivered to Bouthillier. Bouthillier wrote up the receipt and signed it. It was eventually initialed by Kingston.

Written by Captain Foy as Adjunct General in Canada to Kingston as an officer on the staff of General John Burgoyne in New York. Says clothing has been ordered up to Fort Ticonderoga. Said he would have sent it up with the additional companies when they left, but his letter arrived too late. Additional recruits have arrived and he will send it with them to assure the clothing's safety. Mentions some confusion over copies of dispatches.
