Title: [Account of sundries purchased by Major Samuel Shaw]

Acccount Samuel Shaw had with John Fisher in Philadelphia. These items were "charged to Gen Knox" and Shaw signed it, verifying the charges. The bill was for $77.75. Some of the items bought included shoes, shirts, combs, hair powder, snuff, paper, sealing wax, quills, etc. It is also noted that mending and washing of clothes was done. Docket in Shaw's hand.

The accounts from 1778-1780 mostly includes items used in daily life: various types of cloth, sugar, oil, ribbons, olives, etc. The total came to $20,348. Rest of the account gives expenses from May 1780 to June 1781. Stresses to Knox he did not remove one of Knox's barns on Brigadiers Island (present day Sears Island, Maine). Informs Knox whoever told him he was removing a barn was mistaken. Says he removed the remaining portion of the roof on the house because it was damaged (likely from a storm). Also discusses the compensation he deserves for his work and the possibility of Knox selling the island. A small portion of the letter is missing at the bottom causing minor text loss.
