Appears to be in Jackson's hand. This document seems to be an estimate a builder gave Jackson to construct 4-story houses for Henry Knox in Maine. Each house is to have a 32 foot front and be 48 feet deep. Gives an estimate of £300 per house. Wants £126 per month for provisions. Is willing to have $200 paid every quarter.

On 30 April [1778] Knox receives money for the travel expense of a journey from New England and for the expense of moving his and General [Nathanael] Greene's baggage last year to Morris Town. Document appears to be in William Knox's hand. This is a bill that William owed to his contractor Thomas Clement. Bill includes boards, nails, locks, staples, and various amounts for labor. The total is for £8.11.9. Bill states that £7.8.9 was for "your Brothers House." Bottom is signed by Clement stating he was paid in full.

Laundry bill from time at Valley Forge. The total was for slightly over 17 dollars. Gives a detailed list of items and how much each cost to clean. Docket notes that this includes "5 Dozzen Clothes for Mrs Knox a Dollar pr Dozzen." Shaw also had washing done. It is noted on the document that Katy the washwoman was the wife of Marshall Saxe.

Lists approximately 100 freedmen by name on the "Mdme. Rosts Hermitage Plantation, Parish St. Charles," Louisiana, who were under the charge of Federal officer Henry B. Fitch. Next to their names are their ages and wages. In some cases there are notes next to the entries; one is listed as a "Suckler" and one with "Child sick -deduct rations." The plantation was that of Pierre Adolphe Rost (1797-1868), a French immigrant, Louisiana judge, and Confederate diplomat.
