Continues to discuss lands deals concerning Jackson, Royal Flint, [Madam] de Leval, [Jean-Baptise] de la Roche, and [William] Bingham. Dated from docket.

Amory is Parker's attorney, and he is anxious to settle these claims. Says he transmitted the vouchers relative to this account to Knox in his letter of 9 April. Wants Knox to give copies of these vouchers to Amory.

Provides him with some further instructions, in case the work is completed before Knox arrives the following month.

Marked "copy." Includes several letters. The first, to Mr. [Life] Wilson, provides instructions for him to build a saw mill in the St. Georges region of Maine using lumber from Mr. James Waller Head. The second note, to Mr. Head, asks him to provide lumber to Mr. Wilson. The third, to Mr. Dunton, asks Dunton to provide Wilson with supplies. The last, apparently to Mr. Vose, provides a variety of instructions about a canal-building project.

Place written is illegible. Dunton, one of Knox's employees in the Waldo patent lands in Maine, writes about a dispute between himself and a Mr. Parsons regarding living arrangements. Both Dunton's and Parsons's families are sharing one unfinished house. Parsons is currently out of town, but Dunton begs that when he returns, Knox relocate Parsons to an empty schoolhouse nearby.

Touches briefly on the claims heard by General [Salem] Towne (he spells it "Town") and mentions that he will send a more thorough communication on the subject soon. Discusses payment for the witnesses Knox sent along, such as a Mr. Mudgit. Also declares that Judge Towne is showing himself to be honest and upright.

Also refers to a letter he wrote to Winslow's cousin, Isaac Winslow, Jr. (see GLC02437.09162), about taxes assessed to the Waldo patent lands; asks Winslow to give advice to his cousin on the matter.

Writes that the bearer of the letter, Captain Thomas Vose, will "make an establishment at the fort and block house farms for our mutual interests." Believes the people of Thomaston (Maine) will accept Captain Vose, and hopes that Fales and Vose will work well together. Has told Vose of his high esteem for Fales. Is unsure whether he will be able to visit the patent lands again during the present year. Asks Fales to present his compliments to the people generally in Thomaston.

Encloses Samuel Watt's deed for land which was formerly part of the Flucker estate. Notes that some persons want to purchase lands, and settlers that are already on the land are desirous "of accommodating their matters."

Will compensate Fales for his troubles.
