A "true copy of the minutes" made by George Morgan re: various minutes and agreements pertaining to the Indiana company, which speculated in land along the Ohio river. In an 1768 treaty Indians had ceded a large tract of land to the "unfortunate traders" for damages they had caused them in 1763. The Indiana company sought to acquire and sell this land. Includes minutes from a September 21-23 meeting in Pittsburg assuring the legality of the purchases and establishing rules for their oversight and sale. Signed by Houston as Commander in Chief of the army of Texas, granting pardon to Scales, who was under death sentence (for desertion?). James Livingston writes to his brother about life in Scotland. He writes that Robert (the son) has arrived at his home, and will be settled once used to the surroundings. James writes that William Livingston's son Andrew was being held captive at the prison at Carthagina in Colombia, where he was "worse treated than their slaves." James also writes of the failings of the Scottish colony at Darien in Panama and the petitioning of King William III to allow a Scottish Parliament to sit in session. Docketed on address leaf.

Livingston's Petition to Governor Richard Coote, Earl of Bellomont, to receive time before the governor to plea his case against former Governor Fletcher's claims which prevented Livingston from being repaid any money by the crown. Bellomont's response was to request the presence of both Livingston and Fletcher on 16 May 1698, so as to decide upon Livingston's fate. Docketed on verso.
