Mentions problems with "Mrs. Thompson's health." Indicates that "I write in great haste" and closes with "esteem for yr character as a Surgeon." Dix, best known as a reformer who labored to establish mental hospitals, was in charge of all women nurses working in army hospitals during the Civil War.
