Appears to be a fragment of a biographical sketch of General Smallwood of Maryland. Previous entry in Past Perfect claimed the sketch appears to be from the early 19th century, before 1840, but there is no evidence to back up that assertion. Mentions that he comes from a "highly respectable family." Says his father Bayne Smallwood was a merchant and planter on a large scale who was also a justice of the peace and a member of the House of Burgesses for many years. Written by North for one of his grandchildren. Speaks of his family that came from Ireland in 1720 and settled in eastern Massachusetts at Yarmouth. Mentions that his mother sold the estate they had when he was 10 or 12 years old after his father died. The narration is not chronological and North tells a variety of stories from a variety of generations. The first four pages are connected and deal with family history and there is a separate fifth page that is the start of a biography, which is incomplete.

Written in camp near Knoxville. General Hazen replies to a letter from Southwick, in Albany, New York. Writes, "I am greatly pleased that the Subject of the Genls. of the Old Federal Army will at last receive the attention it deserves. Genl. Moses Hazen of that Army, was a brother of my great grandfather, and resided upon Grand Isle in lake Champlain, which island he owned." Refers Southwick to Mrs. Moore, of Plattsburgh, New York, and [Doct?] Satterlee, of the Army, stating that these individuals may be able to provide him with further information on Moses Hazen.

An account of Battle of Kings Mountain, which took place in South Carolina on 7 October 1780, by Colonel Campbell (two months after the battle he was made brigadier general of militia). Describes the political and administrative background leading to this battle with a brief description of the battle itself. Date and transcription inferred from page 3. Genealogy, which appears to be added later, penciled in on page 4. Although there is no date it appears to be of the period.
