Asks him to hasten his arrival so they may, "form a more accurate judgement of the measures necessary to be adopted." Marked private on docket.

Encloses some business paperwork (not present) sent to her by Mrs. Knox and includes information from General [Henry] Jackson about the paperwork.

Encloses another letter (not included) to Knox he had originally planned on hand delivering.

Mentions her sons being in the military academy and how they might go to England. Sends her best wishes to Knox's family. Sarah Lyons Flucker was Knox's sister-in-law.

Flucker says, "the ship Mount Vivian sails from Salem, for Calcutta, fourteen days from this date." Flucker needs to know what arrangements he should make. He has lawsuits pending against him and say "honour" compels him to stay in Boston. "Prison" might be his home as a result. Flucker seems to imply he might be able to escape with the assistance of Knox. Signature has been cut out of the document.

Indicates that he has enclosed copies of a vote of thanks from Harvard College to Granville Sharp for a donation to the library that was conveyed through Knox (see GLC02437.01220). Asks that when Knox arrives in France he send thanks to Sharp, who lives in London. Requests that the communication be sent in way that does not expose Sharp "to political resentment." Also mentions that Harvard has not acquired any British publications since 1774 and asks that Knox attempt to procure some while in Europe. Wigglesworth was president of Harvard College.

Knox explains to Williams the situation surround Henry Jackson Knox and his refusal to accept midshipman status after being refused promotion to lieutenant. Knox's son "appears to have no proper value for money, and is therefore very extravagant." Knox thought the Navy would help straighten his son out, but now Knox fears his son will be "involved in a course of errors and vices which may overwhelm him." Also includes a bill for his services, and asks Knox politely if he could pay soon, as he is "poor."
