Location inferred from content. Hutchinson relates the theft of slaves by a group of armed men in Montgomery County, Texas, 1847. Hutchinson claims a group of men with Mr. Stoneum stole slaves from the Fowler plantation "by force of arms." First and last pages are written on quarter sheets. Second-fifth pages numbered 19-22; portion of a larger court document.

A joyous Lee proudly announces the final ratification of a Peace Treaty between the United States and Mexico, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, by which the United States gained its entire western territory, from Texas to California. Adams mentions the speech of Vermont Congressman William Slade, which so offended southerners that they walked out. Discusses annexation of Texas, abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia, duplicity of administration and Southern slave states as well as the suspension of the rules of the House of Representatives for debate.
