His General, P. Sidney Post, led them in Battalion Drill today. A Lieutenant Colonel from his regiment was taken prisoner while doing reconnaissance. "Secesh Cavalry are seen every day and occasional[l]y some are brought into camp." He mistook a group of runaway slaves for Confederates but did not communicate the error when he discovered it, causing fifty men to be sent after the slaves. Written at Camp Andy Johnson.

First page claims he is passing along a copy of a resolution passed by the legislature of Maine and requested to be put before the Pennsylvania legislature. The resolution, passed on 17 February 1824, disapproves of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution put forward by the state of Georgia.
