Reports that the vessels that usually transport their goods are detained on the river due to tides. Discusses the recent departure of the "Duke" (likely the Duc du Liancourt), and how this affects his ability to continue financial transactions. Mentions making a contract with the government on lumber. Discusses a plan to build a brig of certain dimensions, to ship a variety of goods, and asks Jackson to acquire supplies for it, which he lists.

Asks Knox to inform him of what maneuvers are being planned against the British, and promises it will "be most sacredly kept."
