Written from "Redoubt No. 3." Per Knox's orders and those of General Benjamin Lincoln, Secretary at War, he has visited the foundries of John Jacob Faesch at Mount Hope and Gabril [Gabriel?] Ogden at Pompton, both in New Jersey, and inspected the shot and shells they were commissioned to cast for the Army. Provides the number and weight of each type of shell or shot at each foundry, and declared they "stood proof and fit for service."
