A photograph album of the West Point graduating class of 1861 which belonged to Cadet Joseph B. Campbell. Attributed to George C. Rockwood. The album includes albumen images of the seventeen instructors and thirty-six cadets of the United States Military Academy plus two additional persons. It contains handsome images of great Civil War leaders such as John F. Reynolds and William J. Hardee. The photograph of a cocky, clean-shaven Cadet George A. " Advises Colton on possible routes for continuation of the railroad through Arizona. Hopes that the railroad will increase trade and secure peace between the United States and Mexico.

A bust showing shoulder and head, Sheridan is wearing the uniform of a Union Army General Officer and his rank is shown as Major General (two stars on shoulder straps). Philip Henry Sheridan was promoted from brigadier to major general following his performance in the battles of Perryville [October 8th, 1862] and Stones River [December 31st, 1862 to January 2nd, 1863]. Promoted to Liutenant General on March 4th, 1869.

A print of a photograph of the Washington, DC headquarters of Brigadier General Hardin. Brigadier General Martin D. Hardin put was in command ofthe defenses of Washington from 1864 to the end of the war. He is just left of the tree on the corner, missing the left arm he lost in Confederate guerrilla ambush. The glass of the lamp post on the corner reads "19th Street West." The headquarters was located at the intersection of 19th St. NW and Pennsylvania Ave. The crowd consists mainly of well dressed civilian men and women with a few soldiers.
