Recent attacks on his surveyors have been made by neighbors worried he may encroach on their land. Asks Thomas, Bracket and Whiting to go to the towns on his land, and convince the residents that he has there best interestest in mind. Also asks them to accompany those surveying his land and report any violence, so the government can act to stop the attacks. Also discusses the history and details of his lands.

Pettition requesting that the Masschusetts government protect his lands against hostile squatters who live nearby, and who have repeatly attacked his surveyors and threatened violence to his lands. States that the government has promised protection, and has previously aided him, but that his lands remain threatened. Details the history of the attacks on his lands, and the opposition of these squatters and neighbors. Written some time shortly after August 1801.
