Title: [Manual of marching maneuvers]

Hand bound notebook containing detailed instructions for marching maneuvers. In one half of the notebook, Renshaw has written out instructions for the loading, firing and inspection of arms. When flipped over, the other half of the notebook contains instructions for various maneuvers -- for example, sections titled "To Break into Column of Platoons from a halt" and "To change directions towards Guide." This side of the booklet also includes two unlabeled lists of men's names. Written in pen and pencil and sewn in the middle with black thread.

"Twelve men from the Regt. will be detailed to perform the execution ... I hope that I will not be one the number he has a wife and two children she came to see him a few days ago." Collection of fifty-nine posters, dated circa 1940s concerning World War II. Posters were printed in the United States, England and Canada. The subjects are related to buying war bonds, war stamps, rationing, salvage, recycling and possible espionage. Ten of the posters were printed by Autocar, advertising their trucks, and their part in the war effort.

The guns crew and officers stand around the "Dictator," mounted on a rail car. The two officers in the foreground are Colonel H.L. Abbot, First Connecticut Heavy Artillery, and General H.J. Hunt, Chief of Artillery of the Army of the Potomac. Captain F.A. Pratt is on the left. Captain E.C. Don is just behind Colonel Abott and Major T.S. Trumbell is just behind General Hunt on his left.

There is a great amount of flooding on the lower right side of the image and resting by the water at the base of the parapet are two destroyed cannons.
