Title: Declaration for Invalid Pension

Form for a declaration of invalid pension that has been filled out by a Deputy County Clerk in Washington, Vermont. It says that William Noyes was wounded in action near St. Petersburg on April 2, 1865, when he was shot in his lower right leg. This apparently crushed his bones, and he has required the use of crutches since. The document also mentions another soldier who testified that this William Wallace Noyes was the same one who was injured at St. Petersburg. They accept his claim.

Arrest warrant for Sanford Noyes in response to a complaint by James Noyes and Thomas Noyes, who claimed that he owed them 1,700 dollars. The form is typed, but details such as name, crime, and date have been handwritten in. It was witnessed by Edward Wilcox, and signed by someone whose name is difficult to read. On the back of the warrant, a handwritten note from Sanford Noyes acknowledges the warrant and says that he will appear at any time during the August term.

It reports that an Oliver Wilder was an important figure in the Colonial Wars and that a Moses Wilder was involved in the revolution. It also encloses a brief history on Oliver Wilder and an account written by Daniel Chesebrough in 1835 about a military encounter in Ireland in 1637. The documents are copies of the originals.
