Written from Woolwich, likely in Maine. Hired a Mr. Noah Miller to do some agricultural work for him on land in New Canaan, in Lincoln County, in 1780. However, Fuller was unable to continue the improvements, because British troops took possession of some of the land, and deaths in the family and his wife's broken leg limited his ability to work. Meanwhile, a Mr. Charles Thomas began to sow seeds and burn brush on some of Fuller's land, despite Fuller forbidding him to do so in front of two witnesses. Thomas then sold some of this land. The author concentrates on family life, but also mentions news items that struck her as important. The entry for January 1 1821 reads, "Rec'd the glorious news of the acquital [sic] of the Queen of England - and the [cession?] of the Floridas to the United States." She is extremely interested in literature and theatre, and attends three Shakespearean performances in which an actor named Kean took principal roles (entries of January 12, 13, and 22 1821). A grandmother in England dies about this time (entry for February 1).
