He claims he dreamt that she was sick, and ever since he had the dream, he was convinced that his mother was dead. He has only received three letters since he left Winchester. It has been two months since he received word from Lydia Bishoff, though he tells her it feels more like two years. His regiment has continually been on the march, and has not stopped long enough for him to write a letter. He would like to know how Bishoff is getting along with her school.
